Sveriges Isorkester

During Umefolk it is premiere for The Swedish Ice Orchestra! The Cultural Academy in Storuman have developed ice instruments that can be built and played by young people. To show what is possible the first ever Ice Orchestra have been established. The composer Per Egland has written an ice ouverture; NICE ICE.

Do not miss this! It is a unique opportunity to experience fantastic instruments made out of ice, and to listen to the music that is specifically composed for this orchestra.

Since the instruments are made of ice, they prefer to play outdoors. The concert at 5 pm is located outside the entrance of Umeå Folkets Hus. The will also appear on the Allspel with their ice instruments.
