Mittfolk – Folk & världsmusikbandet

  • Saturday 23:30, Äpplet

Mittfolk is the band who has played on all different kinds of places. From the big stage at Urkult in Näsåker to a small club scene in a basement in Osaka, Japan.

Since the start in 2009 Mittfolk has performed a great number of gigs. Of course that includes playing at the greatest folk music festivals in Sweden: Urkult, Umefolk and Linköping, but they have also traveled abroad.

In fall 2012 Japan was visited for one week of touring and exchange with Japanese musicians and youngsters.

Mittfolk has been a tale of success without equals. They have cooperated with the most prominent folk musicians of Sweden and the young peoples development since the start of the band is hard to describe. But in 2014 a band consisting of musicians from the first edition of Mittfolk was awarded "Best newcomer" at the Folk and World music gala in Umeå, Göran Månsson tells.

Musical and artistic leaders are Göran Månsson och Daniel Ek.

Mittfolk consists of young people from all over Västernorrland and is a youth project of Musik Västernorrland/Scenkonst Västernorrland.
