Det ljusnar

The members in Det ljusnar comes from different parts of Sweden and Germany and they meet in the northern folk music. With focus on vocals, personal quintet arrangements on traditional lyrics are played. They unite harmonies, jazzy piano and feisty viola grooves that sets a world music undertone through a danceable performed percussion.

The musicians have studied at different high schools in Sweden (Malung, Ingesund, Framnäs, Falun, Bollnäs), and are now based in both Hälsingland and Dalarna. The inspiration for their music comes from the attitude that "it should be fun", and that it is. Waltzes, humoristic polkas, tragical chapbooks, love ballads, pasture songs etc makes the base of the tunes, which originates from all over northern Europe. They are an invitation to dance and dream, to a lively and calm mind, and through the stories in the songs to a world before our time.
